Academic subjects will be of great use in everyone's future, especially in today's high-qualified educational society. An increasing number of people are confused about whether to specialize in only one subject in order to be proficient and professional. In my view, I agree with the statement that it's essential to master broad knowledge and on this basis, of course it is better to have a specialized subject.

To begin with, dabbling wide range of knowledge contributes to broadening our horizons and raising our general quality, which is beneficial to the growing students. As we all know, young people have a better memory than older ones. When students are young and brilliant, they are more likely to remember a huge amount of interesting stories and meaningful knowledge. These kinds of experiences equip students with higher qualities, providing numerous opportunities for further academic studies, knowledge applications and even job hunting. For instance, a recent research showed that these days employers would like to hire more full-scale graduates, since the companies need not only specialized staff, but also people who are able to deal with matters of several aspects; in others words, overall abilities are prerequisite conditions of a person. However, this overall ability could be improved by mastering broad knowledge, involving critical aspects of academic studies, and in turn enhances students' learning ability, which is the most vital part to evaluate a person.

Besides this, actually it's fairly difficult for us to learn only one subject without the connection and combination of other pertinent subjects. A famous saying goes that the science is a whole family. We all believe that math and philosophy are the two main fundamental subjects of all scientific ones. With this theory of derivation, the entire science family is connected and has interactions with each other. If we are interested in a certain project of a single subject, it's hard for us to understand and complete the work perfectly without the master of relative knowledge. In addition, nowadays interdisciplinary and multiple subjects are hot topics, since they are significant to the process of scientific researches. As an example, chemistry and biology are closely relevant, which we can know for sure because of a subject called "biological chemistry". Immense success in chemistry can hardly be achieved if the scientists understand little about biology knowledge. This is just a conspicuous and typical example, countless connected subjects exist, and even art history and painting techniques are relative as well.

To sum up, even though specializing in one subject does much favor in our academic researches, a wide range of knowledge including many useful subjects plays a more important role in future development. Therefore, it's better for us to have broad knowledge of the world.
