托福写作批改:是否认同过去的教学工作比现在辛苦

写作批改前:

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?Teaching was a harder job in the past than it is today.

Living in a world changing at a bewildering speed, individuals, teachers included, are all trying to keep up with it. Undisputedly, this rapid change, especially those concerning technology, has extremely important implication for our education, rendering teaching easier compared to the past. In the old days, without the assistance of modern technology, teaching faced with more challenges that can be easily grappled with today.

On account of more evenly distributed educational resources and increasing number of qualified educators, classes can be relatively small and personal these days, allowing for a discussion-based teaching methodology. The small size and discuss-oriented format fuel each student to be actively involved in the teaching process. Thus teachers can get feedback from the class without delay. On the contrary, due to the limited resources, seventy around students often squeezed within one classroom. Under such condition, students are easily distracted and hence it is difficult for a teacher to take control of the whole class. Too often a teacher has to leave the teaching suspended to maintain the classroom discipline. In light of this, small class teaching makes it easier for teachers to carry out teaching activities.

Apart from smaller class size, multimedia devices also help making teaching practice more easily to implement. Technology has completely revolutionized traditional liner and text-based learning. With easy access to numerous online database, for instance, teachers no longer need to struggle to mimic the primitive shouts of Ancient Egyptian during an anthropology class. Simply by clicking the mouse, various original sounds would play, lending students the most direct and fresh experience. In another case, multimedia teaching even frees teachers from the cramped classroom. Via videoconference, the educator can establish connections with all the student. Even if he is sick or on business, he can still supervise them. Obviously, teachers nowadays are equipped with more helpful tools and enjoy more freedom.

Additionally, students become more acceptive in general these days, thereby understanding the knowledge imparted more quickly and deeply. The new generation grow up in a society of information explosion, where various sorts of knowledge are not merely accessible to several experts. Plus the proliferation of museums, educational programs, and digitalized books, students are absorbing knowledge anywhere and everywhere. Imaginably, teachers would be more relaxed to stay with such "understanding" students. However, in the past, students have comparatively few ways to acquire extra knowledge. They may never hear of anything about the subject the teacher is talking about so that they may become passive and slow in learning. In view of this, teachers have to put greater effort in explaining even a single concept.

In conclusion, considering the great changes of the technologically advanced society, I reinforce my standpoint that teaching is more of an easy practice these days.
