An increasing number of people begin to realize that technology designed to make people’s lives simpler but make people’s lives more complicated. The issue is whether the convenience or the problem that the technology brings to us has a greater influence on our lives. On balance, I fundamentally agree with the statement that though the technology was designed to make our lives simpler, our society has been much more complicated than before because of the advanced technology.
To begin with, I concede that the technology has made our society a better place for us to live in. First, the technology helps us get rid of some work that was difficult for us humans to accomplish. For instance, with the help of advanced tools, farming no longer needs as much manpower as before and can produce more products. Second, the advanced technology makes us connected to each other, and makes our world more like a village. We can easily contact others whenever and wherever we want.
However, despite the convenience the technology brings to us, our lives have been much more complicated than before. For one thing, if we want to keep the pace of the society, we need to keep learning. Only when we learn the knowledge about the new technology and the new tools applied to our lives, can we avoid being confused. For example, nowadays many more advanced software have been designed to help us get rid of some inconvenience, but only after learning carefully can we apple them to our lives. For the other thing, the problems brought by the technology can not be ignored. The viruses in the Internet can destroy our computer systems. The nuclear is threatening the safety of our lives and even the earth. Our lives have been much more complicated than before because we now have to spend time avoiding and solving all the problems brought by the technology.
From what has been discussed above, it is not difficult to draw the conclusion that though the technology is designed to make our lives simpler and it does bring some convenience to us, the requirements and problems caused by the technology have made our lives much more complicated than before.
