如何回答自己是否适合申请院校

　　1. 不要泛泛夸奖学校

　　2. 找好自己想要学习的专业方向，并结合自己的情况阐述和学校的某个项目或者导师研究吻合的地方。

　　3. 适当的将自己在学校网站上搜集到的课程名称加进去，以显示对学校的研究和对申请专业的关注等等。

　　重点就是要让学校觉得你是很有诚意也很符合他们要招收的学生。所以尽量用自己的经历去跟学校的课程设置做一个匹配。

　　First of all, I want to study in applied economics and management department. My concentration is Applied Economics and Quantitative Analysis, so I want to study some basic courses such as AEM 6080: Production EconomicsAEM，6700: Economics of Consumer Demand, Finance AEM 7100: Econometrics, especially AEM7130 Dynamic Optimization，Mathematical and Statistical (Linear programming and other advanced topics in mathematical programming are covered inAEM 7120),AEM 6120: Applied Econometrics I , and 7120 quantitative method. What's more, I hope to study some programming languages. Computer programming is of strong logic which fits me well, for instance, Computational Methods for Management and Economics. I expect to study PhD. In this case, maths, economics and computer courses are all very essential.

　　After MS study, I have two plans in the middle-short term that I plan to concentrate on macroeconomics or development economics of economics PhD. My second plan is to work in NGO or relevant economics development project of developing countries. I hope to apply what I have learned and do research based on local situation so as to help local economic development. I also hope to do research in developing area.

　　Therefore, Cornell Agricultural Economics is a great choice. No matter developing countries or developed countries should pay attention to agricultural issues. Although China has improved a lot on this issue, yet it is left to be thoroughly solved. More importantly, although in the developed area, agricultural issue should not be ignored. In industrial age, the protection of land is of great importance. In addition, the food safety issue is increasingly increasing and Cornell AEM is a good place to study these such as AEM 6050 - Agricultural Finance，(AEM 6060 - [Food Systems and Poverty Reduction: Integration])(AEM 6300: Policy Analysis: Welfare Theory, Agriculture, and Trade)AEM 6670 Topics in Economic Development. All of these are quite helpful to my future application and research.

　　Except these courses, I am keen on receiving instructions from Calum Turvey, W. I. Myers Professor of Agricultural Finance, Director of Graduate Studies. Since he is more focus on rural issues in Asia, especially in India and China.

　　Besides, there are some Graduate Seminar to provide graduate students an understanding of the state of the art in research, and encourage students to do concrete Thesis Research. I becomes more and more experienced in my exploration, which is also beneficial to accumulate experience to cope with future research work.

　　My long-term goal is to become an economist to develop some useful and practical theories so as to make contribution to social development.
