问题:

Briefly summarize the problem the speakers are discussing, then state which solution you would recommend. Explain the reasons for your recommendation.

Preparation Time: 20 seconds

Recording Time: 60 seconds

答题模板:

In the conversation, the student/tutor is facing a problem that __❶__.

There are two solutions. She could choose either __❷__ or __❸__.

As for me, I prefer the former/ latter because of two reasons.

The first reason is __❹__.

The second reason is __❺__.

In conclusion, based on these two reasons I think the first/ second solution is better.

答题模板解释:

1.听力对话一开始,男生或者女生会交代自己遇到的问题,一般场景叙述在15-30s之间不等,在这过程中考生需要掌握提炼核心信息的能力,尽量用1-2句话去概括❶中男生或女生遇到的问题。

2.❷和❸代表解决问题的两个建议方案,考生必须明确说明怎么“做”才能解决问题。因此,建议在此处用动词不定式to do或者he/she can do的形式复述具体方案。

3.听力对话中,通常每个方案之后都会出现各自的优点或缺点。但由于答题时间有限,考生应对优缺点进行关键词概括或省略不说,把时间留给personal opinion部分,千万不可把大部分的时间放在复述听力中问题和解决方案的优缺点上。

4.❹和❺处考生可根据个人的经历指出支持方案一或二的理由。通常,如果支持方案一,可以说说方案二的缺点,反之亦然。另外,比较常见的理由有,告诉对方实情,对方会理解的等。

听力文本:

M: ❶ How’s it going, Mary? Got your schedule all worked out for the semester?

F: It’s coming together, actually, I just heard about my student teaching assignment.

M: Teaching assignment? You’re student teaching?

F: ❷ Yeah, you know I’m majoring in education so one of the requirements is to teach for a semester in a classroom,usually at the local school in town. We help teach the kids at the school one day a week. I just got my class assignment.

M: Well, that’s good.

F: ❸ Yeah, but I’ve got a scheduling problem.

M: Uh, oh.

F: The day I’ve been assigned to teach at the school in town will be the same day my Chinese history course meets here at the university.

M: ❹ Hmmm, well, could you wait to take the Chinese History course?

M: Sign up for it at another semester or something.

F: ❺ Yeah, but, this one’s taught by Dr. Zhang, he’s a visiting professor. He’ll only be here one semester and he’s supposed to be amazing. I’m really interested in the class since I might be visiting China.

M: ❻ Is there another option?

F: Yeah, actually, the teaching assignment is on a day when I will be working with older kids, teenagers, but the school also needs a student teacher to work in a classroom with little kids, like five- and six-year olds and it’s on a different day when I am free so I could do it.

M: So you could change your teaching assignment to a different day.

F: ❼ Yeah, it’s just that I really want to teach older kids.

M: Oh!

F: I’m planning on teaching older kids when I graduate, so it would be better experience for me, for my career.

The woman’s got a scheduling problem. The day the woman has been assigned to teach at the school in town will be the same day her Chinese history course meets. There are two possible solutions. The first one is to take the Chinese history course in another semester. But this course is taught by Dr. Zhang who is amazing and will only be here one semester. Another solution is to change her teaching assignment to a different day to teach little kids. But she wants to teach older kids because that’s what she wants to do after graduation. I would recommend the woman to take the second solution. Since Dr. Zhang will only be here in one semester and she is planning to go to China, it’s important to grip this opportunity. There must have some other ways to gain experience of teaching older kids but having a Chinese history course taught by a Chinese professor is not that easy.
