Reading:moth飞蛾,总是围绕人造(human made lights)灯光的地方甚至crush into lights。
None of the three hypotheses in the reading can effectively explain why moths fly around or even crush into human made lights. Firstly, from the perspective of avoiding predator, the professor states his doubt, because according to the lecture, if the moth did mistake human made lights for the moon and fly towards it to avoid predator, the moth could circle around the light for a while and fly away after the predator leaves. But in fact, the moth remains around the light for hours. Moreover, judging from the heat released by light, the professor holds a different view, as the lecture further illustrates that fluorescent lights release little heat, less than nature does. Last but not least, on the point of the instinct for food, the professor never fails to express his concern, because moth searches for food depending on the carbon dioxide released by food, and human made light never give off the chemical.
