Predators can catch the preys easily by predicting preys’ behaviors. But the professor says that some preys have certain mechanism to confuse predators so that they can escape successfully. Take squid species as an example. Firstly, they don’t move in a line and they always change their speed. They often move in a zigzag pattern so predators can’t anticipate their next behaviors, thus missing the target. What’s more, squids can change color. For instance, predators have stared at the pink quid for a long time, but it suddenly changed its color into blue. Then the predators will be confused immediately, which will give squid a good opportunity to escape. (109 words)
