The lecture has discussed two risks of price discounting. First of all, it will prevent the customers from buying products with normal price. The professors talked about an example of a furniture company. There will be an annual discount season of the company in December, when almost all the products are on sale. Gradually, the company has realized that customers do not buy their products until the discount season. The second threat is the misunderstanding of customers that products on sale are of worse quality. Take a vehicle company for example. Although the original purpose of the discount is to promote a new brand of cars, customers consider the new car has some problems with spare parts and are thus with extra discount. (123 words)
