I agree with the statement for at least three reasons. Firstly, a society needs both material wealth and spiritual wealth. Artists and musicians are the representatives of the latter. For example, the historians form a picture of history from the works of ancient artists and musician. Secondly, artists and musicians are key factors of aesthetical standards, which will improve the life quality of the whole society, because people need to appreciate arts and music to enrich their lives. Finally, a good society should accommodate all kinds of people with different talent, such as artists and musicians.
