Education has always been a debatable issues. As to how to increase children’s awareness of obligation, people hold disparate views. Someone claim that children should be given the opportunities to raise pets, which is the best way to teach them about responsibility. However, in my view, responsibility is far more than caring lovely creatures. First of all, responsibility is related with a rational decision before action and a strong mind of carrying out a schedule and keeping every disturbance which may turn a plan involving with other people into invalidity, while taking care of animals is simple and easy, all children have to do is feeding the animals and spending some time with them. Children would like to look after animals simply because the animals are adorable, and they will not be fully aware of the importance of obligation. Secondly, there are many other effective ways which can culture the responsibility of children, such as do volunteers’ working, taking part in group activity, being a partner or a leader. Being a part of a team is a better way for children to learn responsibility. As team members, they will aware that they are of no exception and should take their duty to finish their part of work. Thirdly, parent’s proper guidance can also be of great importance to educate children about responsibility. Kids need a clear line which they could never cross. When kids are told and agree not to speak loudly in public area such a bookstore or a hospital, they should also be informed the result they would face if they broke their words. It will definitely set up a protocol for them to follow in their later life. To conclude, letting children keep pets can be a way of develop a sense of responsibility, but there are better ways to make them realize the significance of responsibility.
