对于Task5的听力部分,大家需要掌握3个重点:
1.巧用连接词和说话者语气,找到问题(problem)。
主角在陈述自己遇到的问题的时候,往往会夹带着困惑、疲倦、无奈或生气的语气,他(她)的语气绝不会是平平的。
But I’ve got a problem. / What’s wrong? / What’s up? What happened to your arm? / What’s the problem? Is there a problem with…? / But.. I’ve got a problem. I've got a problem with…/ What's the matter?
2. 迅速判断听力双方的人物关系,辨别谁有问题。
可能的人物身份组合:从“播音员指令”中判断出
组合1:男生-----女生(最多)
组合2:学生-----教授
组合3:学生-----工作人员
组合4:男教授--女教授
3. 巧用信号词判断2个solutions出现的位置。
Couldn’t you… / What about… / Why don’t you… Why not… /Any chance you could… /Or, you can probably… The other option / possibility is…

M: ❶ How’s it going, Mary? Got your schedule all worked out for the semester?
F: It’s coming together, actually, I just heard about my student teaching assignment.
M: Teaching assignment? You’re student teaching?
F: ❷ Yeah, you know I’m majoring in education so one of the requirements is to teach for a semester in a classroom, usually at the local school in town. We help teach the kids at the school one day a week. I just got my class assignment.
M: Well, that’s good.
F: ❸ Yeah, but I’ve got a scheduling problem.
M: Uh, oh.
F: The day I’ve been assigned to teach at the school in town will be the same day my Chinese History course meets here at the university.
M: ❹ Hmmm, well, could you wait to take the Chinese History course?
M: Sign up for it at another semester or something.
F: ❺ Yeah, but, this one’s taught by Dr. Zhang, he’s a visiting professor. He’ll only be here one semester and he’s supposed to be amazing. I’m really interested in the class since I might be visiting China.
M: ❻ Is there another option?
F: Yeah, actually, the teaching assignment is on a day when I will be working with older kids, teenagers, but the school also needs a student teacher to work in a classroom with little kids, like five- and six-year olds and it’s on a different day when I am free so I could do it.
M: So you could change your teaching assignment to a different day.
F: ❼ Yeah, it’s just that I really want to teach older kids.
M: Oh!
F: I’m planning on teaching older kids when I graduate, so it would be better experience for me, for my career.
听力文本关键点
1 Problem :
听力对话一开始,女生或者男生就会交代自己遇到的问题,其中包括问题发生的背景叙述。考生应该明确男生或者女生遇到的最终问题是什么,在回答过程中对问题发生的场景加以概括甚至忽略不说。
2 Solutions:
针对男生或者女生遇到的问题,其中一方或双方都会给出解决方案。一般,解决方案出现的方式都会以建议性的语气出现,如”you can…, can you …? Why not/don’t you…?”等。
Pros & Cons:
在每个解决方案给出之后,男生或者女生会针对该方案,指出其优点或者缺点。
听力文本分析
1 Problem:
❶ 中开门见山,男生问道女生发生了事情,通常这种信号词之后,考生应该引起警觉,问题会紧随其后出现。 ❷ 中女生提到自己的专业要求在当地学校教授一学期的课,这属于问题发生的背景。❸中直指女生遇到的问题是时间安排的冲突,具体讲就是,被分派的学校的时间与Chinese History course 的时间冲突。因此,考生需要总结的问题重点应该是❸。
Solution 1 + Pros/Cons:
❹中男生用建议性语气could you ...提出第一种解决方案是以后再修Chinese History course这门课,但是❺中指出该方案的缺点是这门课由一位客座教授上,这位教授只在学校教授一个学期。
Solution 2 + Pros/Cons:
❻中男生用Is there another option?的句式提问,女生提到第二个方案是去给小孩子上课,时间就不冲突,但❼中女生提到该方案的缺点是自己更愿意教older kids,这个属于better experience 。
