People have to consider many factors when choosing a living space such as the rent, the transportation and nearby facilities. The most primary factor for me is whether this area is near many shops and restaurants or not. Next I will list three reasons for it. First of all, living near shops and restaurants is convenient in entertainment. On weekdays, I am at the office and do not need to worry about food. But on weekends, I want to have a rest at home at more times. If my flat is far away from shop and restaurants, I have to take buses to get food. It is time-consuming. But if the downstairs already have shops and restaurants, I can easily get the food. Also after dinner, if I just want to have a walk and ‘window shopping’, I do not need to take the crowded subway. Secondly, generally the area with many shops and restaurants is often located in the downtown. Although the flat in suburb area may be cheaper and bigger compared with the one in downtown, I like living in places where is filled with local people. More shops and restaurants mean that the nearby place have many residents. After work, maybe I can meet the people who do the similar job or share the interests with me. This is especially important for people who are not local because it is good way for communicating with other people. Last no but least, the transportation in the area with many shops and restaurants is easily accessible. Transportation is one of the most important factors when people choose a living place. For me, I prefer to live near the subway station. Although it is far away from my work place, it is also convenient using the public transportation such as bus and subway. In big cities, public transportation is systematic and you can get anywhere in a relatively short period. Mostly the bus or subway station is located near place where shops and restaurants are plenty. So it is easily accessible both for my work and leisure time. In conclusion, considering the transportation, entertainment and living environment, when I choose a flat, the most important factor is whether the nearby place have many shops and restaurants or not.
