Your community has decided to buy a space to develop its economy. Which do you think the space should be build into, a shopping mall, a theater (music center or drama), or a hotel? And explain why.

答案

In consideration of boosting the local economy, it is positive for the community to buy a space to develop. And among the three given choices, I think building a shopping mall is the best choice. There are some considerations.
To begin with, it provides job opportunities. For example, in the construction of the shopping mall, there is an increasing demand for construction workers. After the completion of the shopping mall, a large number of shop assistants are required in order to serve customers in every floor and counter. Besides, as a shopping mall covers more functions than a theatre or a hotel does, there are demands for other positions, such as security and cleaner. What shall be emphasized is that usually, there is a theatre beside a big shopping mall, to increase people’s choice of entertainment.
Moreover, the construction of a big shopping mall is to make daily purchase convenient. On one hand, big shopping mall attracts brands only available in central business districts, such as some of the clothes brands. After the arrival of these brands, people stop traveling for long distances simply to obtain the brands they want and this is, meanwhile, a contribution to the local consumption. On the other hand, some chain supermarket chooses to locate its branch beside a big shopping mall, and as chain supermarket surpasses groceries in price and category, the residents benefit from it as well as the local economy.
Furthermore, the shopping mall provides a location for people to entertain and get together. A shopping mall includes places for dining, such as restaurants for traditional and foreign food, as well as dessert shops for afternoon tea, KTV and theatre for entertainment, salon for body care, and fairground for the amusement of children. People can spend the whole day there, without getting bored. When people accumulate, the economy boosts.
To conclude, among the three choices to trigger the local economy, a shopping mall may be a choice superior to the other two, in full consideration of job opportunities, purchase convenience and local entertainment.
