Do you agree or disagree with the following statement that it is important to read or watch news presented by different people in different views than by similar views.

答案

One remarkable characteristic of the contemporary society is information explosion, which on one hand, equip people with all the information required on the spot, and on the other hand, prevent the public from identifying the truth out of tremendous information. In terms of information acquisition, news is the main channel, through which some people prefer that presented by different people in different views in contrast to my handling, to view only that with similar views.
To begin with, too many distinctive opinions may disturb people in decision making. Typically, when people are offered two or three choices, the final decision is easy to make. So it is the case with information. With the help of two or three pieces of related news, people tend to understand the whole event better. However, when people are over flooded by vast information, it is pretty difficult to identify the truth. And the case becomes complex, dealing with abundant information before the truth reveals itself. But we all know that it is less possible in daily information acquisition process.
Moreover, to be led by a multiple of ideas is a waste of time. Take my brother for example. He will graduate from senior school this year and has to work on university selection. He has got pretty clear preference to major and school, but in order not to miss any of the chances, he starts to analyze hundreds of pages of information concerning university education. But in the end, the information tells him, the original selection is the best and he has spent months on information collection without doing anything.
Furthermore, further comprehension of one view outweighs a grasp of opposite views. For example, some people spend hours reading materials opposing the idea he/she is holding, while others are digesting information that proves his/her idea. For the first group of people, they understand why and how people disagree with them, but in the latter group, readers understand why his/her standpoint deserves their support. The effect is quite obvious in comparison of the two doings.
To end up, regardless of adequate information holding distinctive views, as long as we understand why we hold our own view and how it deserves our support, that is enough.
